Bedfordshire Community Health Services
NHS Bedfordshire (Primary Care Trust) is inviting suitably qualified and experienced NHS healthcare providers to apply to deliver a wide range of community services within NHS Bedfordshire’s operational area.
In accordance with recent Department of Health guidance, NHS Bedfordshire will welcome expressions of interest, from NHS organisations, which may involve other organisations (e.g. independent, third sector or NHS), that add value to the offer by bringing innovative ideas and approaches to the future delivery of community services. Bids may be submitted independently or as part of a wider collaboration with other organisations (e.g. independent, third sector and other NHS organisations).
NHS Bedfordshire will transfer its community services provider arm, Bedfordshire Community Health Services (BCHS) to the successful bidder, who will work with NHS Bedfordshire to accomplish a safe and timely transfer and then assume responsibility for the delivery of the community healthcare services (listed below) which BCHS currently provides to the local population and on behalf of other stakeholders. NHS Bedfordshire reserves the right to modify this list prior to issuing the pre qualification questionnaire.
The Community Services contract will be for a period up to seven years in duration; this will be further specified during the tender process.
There are approximately 1,200 whole time equivalent staff currently employed within BCHS. TUPE regulations will apply to the transfer of these staff to the successful bidder. BCHS operates from a range of locations across Bedfordshire.
