Calls for Expressions of Interest for the provision of NHS Primary Care Dental Services by NHS Bedfordshire
NHS Bedfordshire invites Expressions of Interest from all suitably qualified and experienced healthcare providers (including dental practitioners, independent dentists, social enterprise / third sector organisations, Dental Body Corporate and other potential providers) to provide a range of primary dental care services.
Locality: PCT locality of Shefford, Bedfordshire.
Proposed Contract type: 5 year PDS Agreement. To include 2 year advanced mandatory services pilot
Total Activity under offer: 14,000 UDAs
The services are being commissioned by NHS Bedfordshire, and the services sought are as follows:
Mandatory dental healthcare services and advanced mandatory dental healthcare services to be provided from a purpose built and equipped, HTM01-05 fully compliant dental wing within the new Health Centre in Shefford.
Mandatory dental healthcare services to serve a population of approximately 27,000 persons.
The service will also pilot an innovative intervention for patients requiring enhanced mandatory general dental healthcare services that may not be appropriate for referral to the Salaried Primary Dental Care Services (SPDCS) or, on discharge from the SPDCS may not be appropriate for immediate integration within high street GDS. i.e. a half-way house between SPDCS and High street care.
