Healthcare in Cranfield
NHS Bedfordshire and Cranfield Surgery have been working together to develop plans to expand current healthcare services in the village of Cranfield. For a long period of time, the current premises at 137 High Street, Cranfield has struggled to meet the needs of local patients and staff.
In order to continue to deliver quality health services to local residents we have developed plans for a new purpose-built health centre for the area. Should the proposal go ahead, this would provide services for both villages and complement existing services at Marston Moretaine surgery and Cranfield University Campus.
Consultation informationThe consultation ran from Monday 15 June to Monday 10 August 2009 when patients, residents, groups and individuals were given the opportunity to have their say about the proposals. The links below provide more information:
Health Care in Cranfield - leaflet (8 pages) – provides a summary of the proposal and the options being consulted on.

Consultation reportA public meeting was held on 30 July 2009 at Holywell Middle School to enable residents to meet with staff and ask questions regarding the proposals. Minutes from this meeting, including the Question and Answer session are available on the below link.
After the end of the consultation, we will publish a consultation report here, setting out what people have told us about the proposals.

The consultation report will form part of the project business case to be considered by the Board of NHS Bedfordshire at its open meeting on 23 September 2009 before making a decision on the proposal.
