NHS Bedfordshire Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment consultation begins
NHS Bedfordshire has been working closely with local providers of pharmacy services, stakeholders and local health professionals to research current and future provision of pharmacy services in Bedfordshire. In July 2010, more than 200 members of the public shared their views about these services, the support and customer care that they received and what services they would like to see in the future.
All this information has been used to create the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, a legal requirement for all primary care trusts (PCTs), to identify which services are needed to meet the population’s needs over the coming years.
The PNA will become the basis of decision making for future services and enable pharmacy providers to extend and develop the services they provide.
The consultation period starts on Monday 13 September and ends on Friday 26 November 2010.
For any enquiries about the PNA, please contact Belinda Ekuban, Prescribing Adviser and Community Pharmacy Lead or tel: 01525 636 865
To request hard copies of the documents, please contact Vivienne Payne, Senior Engagement Manager or tel: 01234 897 205
