Have your say about proposals for a new medical centre in Shefford
NHS Bedfordshire supports a proposal by Dr Cakebread and Partners at Shefford Health Centre to build a major new health centre on land east of Hitchin Road, Shefford. As the NHS organisation responsible for ensuring comprehensive, accessible and high quality healthcare across Bedfordshire, we are carrying out a public consultation from 20 October 2008 to 25 January 2009 to find out what people in Shefford and the surrounding villages think about the proposals. How to tell us what you think
If you are a patient of the GP practice at Shefford Health Centre, we welcome your views. You can make your views known by:
- Completing the consultation questionnaire online
- Emailing us at shefford@bedfordshire.nhs.uk
- Completing and returning the freepost consultation form (no stamp needed). We have sent this with the consultation leaflet to the households of all patients registered at the GP practice. If you have not received this, please email us and we will post it to you
- Completing and posting the response form in the consultation post box in the GP practice

Public meetings
There will be two public meetings from 7.30-9.00pm at Samuel Whitbread Upper School, Shefford Road, Clifton, Bedfordshire SG17 5QS on Tuesday 25 November 2008 and Thursday 8 January 2009. Please email shefford@bedfordshire.nhs.uk if you would like to attend one or both meetings. View map.
Consultation report
After the end of the consultation, we will publish a consultation report here, setting out what people have told us about the proposals.
Consultation decision
The consultation report will be considered by the Board of NHS Bedfordshire at its open meeting on 18 March 2009 before making a decision on the proposal.
