Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA)

Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, a legal requirement for all primary care trusts (PCTs), to identify which services are needed to meet the population’s needs over the coming years. The PNA describes the health needs of local residents, reviewed the services available, identified any gaps and considered how these gaps might be filled.

NHS Bedfordshire has been working closely with local providers of pharmacy services, stakeholders and local health professionals to research current and future provision of pharmacy services in Bedfordshire.
This PNA will become the basis of decision making for future services and enable pharmacy providers to extend and develop the services they provide in Bedfordshire.

This project was subject to a public consultation, between September 2010 and December 2010, to enable, the public, stakeholders and local healthcare professionals to inform and influence the PNA.  All documentation is available to view below.
