Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Priorities Forum

The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Priorities Forum produces guidelines intended to help PCTs, including NHS Bedfordshire, to choose how to allocate their resources in order to promote health and prevent disease in their local community, and to promote a uniform approach to resource allocation decisions across the two counties. Guidance produced is based on evidence of clinical and cost effectiveness and where possible includes outcome measures and patient/clinician decision making tools. The scope of treatments includes non pharmaceutical treatments where there is no national guidance, or where national guidance requires local interpretation and implementation; where an analysis of clinical efficacy or the economic effectiveness of the intervention or thresholds is required; or where a decision is required as to whether it is a priority treatment in terms of population health.
